The Deep Roots Festival is a community celebration that increases our connection to local foods and the farmers and growers who make them in the Lake Agassiz Region, hosted by the Lake Agassiz Chapter of SFA.

Deep Roots Festival is so excited to feature two-time James Beard award-winning author and chef, Amy Thielen, as our keynote speaker! Along with her keynote presentation, Amy will be sharing a cooking demo and will be available to sign copies of her books including Give a Girl a Knife, The New Midwestern Table, and her latest book, Company. Online ticket sales have closed. Please purchase your ticket at the gate.

The first 175 ticketholders are guaranteed a meal with their ticket. Tickets sold after the first 175 will be half price but will not include the meal. There will be other food options available onsite for purchase.

Good Eats at Deep Roots

Admission to this year’s event will include a locally sourced meal catered by Spanky’s Stone Hearth.

Classes

In addition to our keynote presentation by Amy Thielen, there will be six different local foods sessions you can attend. Seed saving, kimchi making, farm tours, and more!

Youth Activities

Folks of all ages will find something for them at Deep Roots! Free youth activities will be available. Youth twelve and under are free to attend.
