Join SFA for our first third Thursday pasture walk of the season!
Click to download flyer.
Keith Olsen and his family have been making intentional changes at Circle K Ranch to transition their operation into a more profitable, low-input ranch in southwest Minnesota. Keith grazes 60 cow/calf pairs—along with replacements and some stockers—across 300 acres. By converting cropland to perennial pasture, integrating annual forages, reducing inputs like pour-on dewormers, and implementing bale grazing, he has improved soil health, lowered costs, and increased profitability. He has also strategically extended his grazing season, keeping cattle on pasture and out of the lot for most of the winter.
Come walk the pastures along the Lac qui Parle River and see firsthand how thoughtful grazing management and planning can work on your operation. Keith has also leveraged programs like the Minnesota Ag Water Quality Certification Program and is working with AgSpire’s Grass is Greener program to continue expanding forage acres.
