Executive Director’s Note
SFA’s Festival of Farms last weekend was a huge success!
I attended the Crow River event at Crandall Garden Farme, and had a great time. Thanks, Bruce for a wonderful tour. Other folks in Crow River attended the event at Mike Lilja’s place. More information has been posted on SFA’s Facebook Page.
I’ve also heard from South Central Chapter, and they got some excellent pub from Mankato TV.
Cannon River had some great publicity and coverage in AgriNews.
Coteau Ridge had a well-attended event, with a good focus on farming and food!
Central Chapter’s event was very well attended, and from what I’ve heard was fun, informative and community-building.

Out & About
SFA Receives McKnight Foundation Funding
At the end of June, SFA received a grant from the McKnight Foundation for the purpose of exploring SFA member interest and activity in influencing environmental policy issues.
As we move into fall, we’ll be rolling out our plans and activities regarding this project. We’ll we working once again with our good friends at Renewing the Countryside to administer this project, and to carryout this work.
Essentially, we’ll be evaluating the capacity of SFA and its members to understand and direct environmental policy issues at the local, state and federal level. You’ll be able to keep up with what we are doing in this project here in SFA Connect and on our website.
