The morning of Grazefest Minnesota 2007 is just for farmers! On Saturday, July 21st from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Summit Farm, rural New Prague, MN, come and learn about new and practical information about marketing concepts, grazing and pasture-based systems and meet experienced graziers, grazing resource people, and expand a grazing network. Stick around in the afternoon to eat great food, hear great music, socialize and have an all-around good time.
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Starting at 9:30 a.m., Dave and Florence Minar of Cedar Summit Farm will a talk about their farm, including its history, livestock, acres and land use, grazing, conservation and marketing practices and their farming philosophy.
Next to take the stage is Mike Lorentz, co-owner of Lorentz Meats, Cannon Falls, MN. His presentation is entitled, “How to Increase Farm Income by Selling What You Do, What You Know, and What You Have.” This will be followed by in-depth pasture tours lead by graziers such as Ralph Lentz, Art Thicke, Jim VanDerPol, Dan French, Dave Rabe, paired with grazing specialists. At noon a locally produced box lunch will be provided.
Graziers are invited to stay at Cedar Summit for the day and enjoy music provided by Chuck Suchy and the Roe Family Singers, cooking demos by chef Philip Dorwart, and more!
The price for the morning session, including a box lunch, is $20 for SFA members and $30 for non-members, if registration is in before July 13th. After July 13th and at the door the cost is $30 for SFA members and $40 for non-members. The cost for children under 18 years of age is $10.

We are 1 mile East of Highway 21 on C.o Rd 2- (Exit 169 at Jordan and take 21 South) or Take I35 south of Mpls. to exit # 76 (Elko-New Market-Co. Rd 2). Turn right at top of exit (left if coming from South) and go 12.8 miles to Co. Rd 15 also known as Drexel Ave and take a right onto Co. Rd 15 then left into the first driveway. Our creamery is red with white trim. There is a sign in front.
