
Festival of Farms™ is an opportunity to learn about sustainable agriculture, network within the community, and have fun at various farms across the state. The Festival will be unique to each chapter, but the goal is the same—to build a unified sense of SFA’s presence in communities across Minnesota and tighten connections within the local food community.

Join the Cannon River Chapter for a guided bus tour to Simple Harvest Farm, Big Woods Farm and Shepherd’s Way Farms. The bus departs from the Just Food Co-op, Northfield, MN at 1:00 p.m. and arrives back at 5:00 p.m. The bus tour is free, but space is limited, sign-up is on a first come, first serve basis. The South Central Chapter is holding two tours at each of four locations. The event will run from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with tours happening at 1:00 p.m.and 1:45 p.m. at the Hope Creamery and the Sunopta Elevator in Hope, MN.
Tours will also be available at 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Wencl Family organic dairy farm near Blooming Prairie, MN. This event is open to the public at no charge.

The Coteau Ridge Chapter is hosting three farm tours. In the Walnut Grove, MN area two farms will be showcased. Merryweather Gardens will feature organic garlic, vegetables and poultry and Evergreen Angus will feature grass-fed Angus cattle. The tours run from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The will be local foods tastings on each farm. Feel free to come and go at any time!
Near Pipestone, MN tour Don DeWeed’s farm that will feature an organic crop farming field four of oats, soy, corn, peas and alfalfa. There will be a potluck supper after the tour from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and a burger tasting from corn-fed Jersey, Aubrac and grass-fed Angus beef.
