This year marks the 25th anniversary of MISA, the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture. Many of you likely receive their information-rich emails or have been impacted by their research, education and demonstration programs. SFA was one of the organizations that helped launch MISA and we continue to be part of the Sustainers Coalition, which provides support to achieve MISA’s mission and includes Land Stewardship Project, Minnesota Food Association and the Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy.
Learn about MISA and the central role it plays in sustainable agriculture at SFA’s Annual Conference this Sat., Feb. 10, at the College of St. Benedict. Our morning plenary (8:30-9:30 a.m.) will recognize MISA in a brief program; speakers include SFA Boardmember Dale Woodbeck, who also serves on the MISA Board; George Boody, former LSP Executive Director and current Science and Special Projects Director; Audrey Arner & Richard Handeen, Moonstone Farm; and Kathy Draeger, Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships Executive Director.
Throughout this year, SFA will publish a series of articles in SFA Connect about MISA’s work, programs, history, and what you can do to help keep MISA vibrant for another 25 years. Watch for future articles.
I look forward to seeing you Saturday at the Annual Conference!
- P.S. Don’t forget the Midwest Soil Health Summit on Feb. 14-15. An amazing program is lined up.
