That spells spring to me and segues nicely into this Saturday, Earth Day, when we commit to stewardship of the air we breathe, the water we drink and the land that sustains us. Here at the Sustainable Farming Assocation, we are observing Earth Day in several ways, and we’d like to invite you to join us:
- The East Central SFA chapter will hear a presentation on Soil Health and Livestock featuring Kent Solberg, our Livestock and Grazing expert, at 9 a.m. in the Community Room of Coborn’s in Isanti.
- Here in New Ulm, SFA is partnering with several other groups to share the importance of science to food production, education, public health and to sustainable communities. The event is at 10 a.m. in Hermann Park, where we’ll hear speakers, enjoy the day and recommit to protecting our food-producing resources.
- The Crow River Chapter Spring Social, as detailed here, is 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in Minneapolis.
Whatever you do on Earth Day, wherever you are, please take a moment to breathe, appreciate our abundance and recommit to protecting our food-producing resources for generations to come.
