‘Cultivating the Wisdom of the Community’
The 2016 SFA Annual Conference, “Cultivating the Wisdom of the Community,” was held Feb. 13 at the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn.
Over 250 SFA members and supporters flooded the Gorecki Center for a day of knowledge sharing, learning, and networking. Conference regulars and new faces alike enjoyed the warm camaraderie of the sustainable farming community and came away with new connections, ideas, and spirit.
Topics included Minnesota’s cottage food law, keyline design, farm incubation, forage, cover cropping techniques, and many, many more – illuminating the progress and momentum of sustainable farming practices in Minnesota and nationwide.
Unveiled in 2016 was a new feature: WOC Talks (Wisdom of the Community). Similar to the popular TED Talks, this new program invites SFA members and supporters to submitted talks on subjects relating to sustainable farming and food systems for possible selection to be presented at the Annual Conference.
